Fundamental to the academic success of every student is the acquisition of study skills.  Learning proper and effective study strategies allows students to perform well on tests, thus demonstrating their competence over learned materials and ultimately improving class grades.  

 

Incorporated into the study skills curriculum is the cultivation of social skills.  Self-concept is of central importance to an individual and often predetermines learning.  By experiencing the dynamics of group interaction, students can increase their ability to behave appropriately in social situations, gain confidence in the social arena, and develop a more positive self-image, in the endeavor to enhance learning.
